FlowLab4edu - Simulate, create and control fluid power

NEW and EXCLUSIVELY at Christiani

FlowLab4edu is a versatile software for the creation, simulation and control of GRAFCET plans as well as pneumatic and electro-pneumatic circuits. The intuitive editors can be used to create any pneumatic and electro-pneumatic controls and GRAFCET plans. You can also connect or simulate the created electro-pneumatic circuits and GRAFCET plans with real controllers (e.g. LOGO, S7-1200, S7-1500) and external circuits via various TCPIP software interfaces. Use the process visualisation and create process images for operating, monitoring and analysing simulated GRAFCET, pneumatic, electro-pneumatic plans or real electro-pneumatic systems.

Main features:

  • Graphical design of pneumatic circuits
  • Symbols according to the DIN ISO 1219-1 standard
  • Simulation and testing of the designed pneumatic diagrams
  • Design and simulation of electro-pneumatic circuits
  • Describing circuits with GRAFCET
  • Creating controls with GRAFCET
  • Data acquisition and analysis
  • Process visualisation
  • Detailed documentation and help
  • Independent learning and working
  • Including introductory tasks and examples

Advantages:

  • Simple and easy to understand structure
  • Cost-effective
  • Realistic
  • Tailored to training content
  • With detailed documentation and help
  • Symbols correspond to the ISO 1219-1 standard
  • Incl. introductory tasks and examples

Features of the new version 7.8.E:

  • The maximum number of possible signals has been increased:
  • Analogue: 16 inputs, 8 outputs, 80 flags
  • Binary: 32 inputs, 32 outputs, 80 flags
  • Text: 8 flags

Pneumatic editor

The intuitively operated editor is equipped with an extensive library of pneumatic components and electrical elements. A wide range of settings can be made for the individual components. For electro-pneumatics, electrical circuits can be created with the editor. Their signals are directly linked to the pneumatic components.

**Pneumatics simulation **

Simulate the created pneumatic circuits and display their behaviour. To do this, the system first automatically checks whether the page contains errors. By setting signals, positions, switching states, pressures etc. can be recorded, saved and analysed as measured values. Graphic and numerical evaluation tools are available for this purpose.

Process visualisation

With process visualisation, you can create your own process images for monitoring and operating the simulated circuits or for monitoring real systems and pneumatic circuits.

GRAFCET

GRAFCET is a graphical, technology-independent description language standardised according to EN 60848 for the representation of processes, controls and sequence controls. The GRAFCET module has been widely used in industry and education for many years. Use the diagrams to describe pneumatic circuits or execute them as controls on your systems.

Create standard-compliant GRAFCET diagrams with the GRAFCET editor:

  • Select the individual elements from the toolbox and place them freely in the editor by drag & drop
  • Operations of the various elements can be specified individually
  • Insertion of comments
  • The process can be simulated at the touch of a button
  • Plans can be monitored in the GRAFCET view
  • Parallel simulation to pneumatic simulation
  • Direct comparability of pneumatic and GRAFCET states

Measured value acquisition and storage

Progressions of analogue and binary signals, such as positions, switching states, pressures, temperatures, flows, etc., can be recorded, stored and analysed as measured values.

Process interfaces

FlowLab4edu contains various interfaces (including Modbus/TCP, OPC UA, S7 PLC and MQTT) for connecting external devices or third-party software.

Control of training circuits and real systems

In conjunction with the I/O board, electro-pneumatic exercise set-ups and real systems can be controlled directly via FlowLab4edu. Connection to the PC is via Ethernet. All signals are connected via 4 mm safety lab sockets.

Industry 4.0 - IoT

By activating the MQTT protocol, FlowLab4edu can establish a connection / communication with a web server (WEB broker). MQTT is very well suited for automation solutions and is widely used in the field of IoT due to its ease of use.

Note:

  • The software is delivered via a download. For the provision of the activation, please provide a valid e-mail address of a responsible employee when ordering (please also provide the first and last name).
  • In addition to the software maintenance, it is mandatory to order a dongle as well. The USB dongle is used for copy protection and license management of the FlowLab4edu software. It can also function as a network dongle multiple licenses.

The following minimum requirements are mandatory for using FlowLab4edu:

All supported operating systems:

  • Hard disk or flash memory with at least 240 MB free memory
  • Keyboard
  • Pointer device (mouse or similar)
  • At least SVGA graphics, 800 * 600 pixels, 65535 colours (medium colour resolution)
  • Standard computer with Windows 10®
  • TCP/IP protocol installed (Windows Sockets version 2.0 or higher).
  • Recommended: Installed Microsoft Internet Explorer®, version 3.0 or higher (because of Windows Common Controls).

The use of process drivers, DLL or PD controls and extended system services increases the performance requirements, but usually only slightly.

Download FlowLab4edu from the Christiani learning portal C-LEARNING and use the demo access to test the software.

In total, you can start the demo version 8 times for a duration of 30 minutes.
