Rolling Chassis
with ABS and Bi-Xenon Curve Light

Functional Model
Item No.: 82543

The functional model Rolling Chassis is functionally constructed and didactically prepared with the complete chassis of a Golf 6. The chassis consists of a torsion-free tubular steel frame made of 50 x 100 x 2 mm square section tubing for the cross members and 100 x 100 x 2 mm for the longitudinal members. All joints are welded throughout. 14 cross struts ensure a torsion-resistant structure. Within the RAL colour range, the chassis is available in any desired paint finish. The load capacity of the chassis is approx. 1,600 kg. This enables the attachment of additional bodies. An original driver's seat with all adjustment possibilities is mounted on the grid frame. Holding and lashing eyes allow the chassis to be fixed on test and simulation stands. The chassis rolls on four new steel rims with new tyres. A rear-mounted push handle makes manoeuvring at or to the site easier. The axle components have all the adjustment options such as lead, caster, camber, toe, spread, wheel offset and driving axle angle. The rear axle is equipped with engraved eccentric discs and adjustment markings. This allows all axle angles to be displayed. A height-adjustable coilover suspension is also fitted. This extends the adjustment possibilities and it is also possible to simulate e.g. a broken spring. The complete brake system incl. handbrake, as well as all ABS components and the electromechanical power steering with double pinion are functionally assembled. All maintenance, repair and adjustment work can be carried out on the installed original components.

In addition, a control box, the instrument cluster and the steering column control unit with all the necessary switching and operating elements, the complete central electrical system with all the associated components, as well as the vehicle wiring harness and the complete lighting system with bi-xenon cornering light headlights are also installed. An extended remaining bus simulator for generating system-relevant control unit signals ensures trouble-free operation of the complete systems. The system has an extended remaining bus simulator for generating system-relevant ECU signals and can be diagnosed and coded via an operating box with OBD connection.

Optionally, it is possible to equip the chassis with all-wheel drive axles in order to retrofit it with electric drives, e.g. wheel hub motors.
