Hydraulic Switching Function Heating/Cooling
Supplement for Training Stand S5

Without the switching function, the source circuit and heating circuit are defined as follows:

• Left side of training stand S5 heat pump (evaporator): source circuit, i.e. heat extraction.
• Right side of training stand S5 heat pump (condenser): heating circuit, i.e. heat input

With the switching function, it is possible to switch between the source and the heating side by simply flipping ball valve valves.

• I.e. the training stand to the left of the heat pump can be connected not only to the source circuit (evaporator) but also to the heating circuit (condenser). And correspondingly, the training stand to the right of the heat pump can be connected not only to the heating circuit but also to the source circuit.

• In this way, the same technical system can be used for both heating and cooling only by switching ball valve valves, which corresponds to the latest heat pump technology for heating and also for cooling.

• This switching function can only be used in conjunction with the S5 heat pump training stand. Training stands S5 already delivered can be retrofitted without any problems.
