Digital twin teaching system in modern CNC training The use of the digital twin considerably expands the learning opportunities in training and opens up numerous didactic perspectives:

  • Practical experience in CNC programming
  • Setting up tools and carrying out CNC machining on various machine tools (virtually)
  • Teaching of all necessary theoretical and practical knowledge
  • Error and safety simulation: The teaching system can simulate errors and problems in CNC machining.

This gives learners the opportunity to recognise, analyse and rectify them. The consideration of safety aspects ensures a safe learning environment.

  • Visual and haptic: Realistic size and operation of a CNC milling or turning machine.
  • Realistic digital image of the machine tool used in the workshop. The digital image includes all geometries of the machine, fixtures, tools and the controls used, including the version and all parameter settings. Can be extended with a wide range of digital twins from various milling and turning machine manufacturers for an additional charge

Primarily for the major metalworking professions, wherever CNC technology is taught as part of the curriculum, but also for further training as part of CNC qualification (users, master craftsmen, technicians and engineers).

The teaching system can simulate errors and problems in CNC machining to give learners the opportunity to recognise, analyse and rectify them. It also takes safety aspects into account through the virtual environment to ensure a safe learning environment. There are no costs for destroyed material, tools or machine components in the event of intentional or unintentional user errors.

The digital twin provides a visual representation of the CNC machining process, including 3D models, tool paths, material flow and machining results. This enables detailed modelling and simulation of CNC processes, including tool and machine movements.

Mobile teaching system with monitors, PC, as well as the Siemens SINUMERIK ONE Run MyVirtual Machine /Operate software package and 3D single-user licences, including the associated maintenance packages for one year.
