Training Board Servo

Item No.: 54505

With the SERVO training board, we offer you a controlled system that can be used in both analog control technology and digital control technology.

  • Universal positioning control system
  • Analog angle acquisition
  • With switchable disturbance variable (gear backlash)
  • Expandable with pluggable retro-reflective sensors for digital angle detection (incremental)
  • Digital speed and direction of rotation recording
  • Digital control inputs for both directions of rotation

Our products are designed for the European market and meet CE requirements. For international use, regional regulations apply which must be observed. The usability of the products shown must therefore be checked in advance.

The SERVO training board contains a DC motor that is coupled to a potentiometer via a gear. The potentiometer is used for analog position detection.

To protect the potentiometer, its slider is decoupled via an amplifier. The signal at the output is inverted.

The motor of the SERVO training board can be controlled digitally in both directions of rotation via TTL inputs and a downstream logic.

This also allows digital control of the SERVO training board. trigger is led. To adjust the input signal from -10 V... +10 V to the motor voltage of 12 V by means of an amplifier connected in series. The device has a digital encoder, which among other things consists of an encoder disk on which two encoder tracks with different resolution are applied for digital acquisition and further processing of the speed, the angle of rotation and the direction of rotation.

A photoelectric reflex switch is plugged in, whose output signal is fed via a Schmitt trigger.

To investigate different resolutions, the reflex light barrier can be plugged in two positions.

In order to digitally detect the direction of rotation, the encoder has a plug-in field for an additional reflex light barrier, whose output signal has a phase shift of 90°.

If the encoder disk rotates clockwise, the left-hand photoelectric reflex switch always switches first compared to the right-hand one, because it is the first to be reached by a marker (U1 before U2). If the encoder disk rotates counterclockwise, the process is reversed (U2 before U1).

A digital logic evaluates the temporally different signals and makes them available as TTL signals at U1 and U2. The states are additionally indicated optically by LEDs.

A disturbance variable can also be added to the controlled system. This is the mechanical play of the drive (dead time), which is realized electronically with the SERVO training board.
