Teaching System Heat Pump
Training Stands S1, S2, S5

Item No.: 96429

The heat pump training system is the origin of the today very successful training system heating technology with renewable energies by Christiani.

The heart of the system is the heat pump, which, in contrast to industrial heat pumps, offers visual access to all components and has been comprehensively developed didactically. Together with the two other training stands S1 and S2, both air heat and geothermal heat can be used as a heat source. Similarly, the heat sink, i.e. the heating system, can be either underfloor heating or fan-assisted heating. Using this multiple function of the training stands, different system concepts can be planned, set up, commissioned, measured and evaluated.

The didactic documents provide basic information on heat pump technology, a detailed description of the components and their functions, as well as numerous tasks, tests and the corresponding solutions.

Pedagogic requirements

  • Maximum learning efficiency from closely linking theory and the practical side of the subject with hands-on learning processes
  • The contents of learning must be made "graspable" in both meanings of the word
  • To avoid any waste of time in the learning organisation, all learning processes have to provided at the place of learning in a qualified and optimised manner, and the system technology must be designed for practical applications such that these processes can be realised in a mutually complementing way
  • This calls for "integrated specialist classrooms" where both theory and the practical side of the area of technology concerned can be mediated
  • The efficiency in conveying the knowledge and findings is part of the balanced concept which includes written information and exercises organised using modern media techniques, PC workplaces, experimental, laboratory and demonstration equipment to practice on
  • All learning processes are designed in the context of "complete action" with the problem assignment (job, information), conditional analysis (analysis of the knowledge relevant to the organisation, planning), project realisation (execution, realisation, test record) and transfer (documentation, assuring the results, testing)
  • Understanding of system technical conditions of heat pump heating systems and solar thermal systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and control engineering operating conditions using the example of a heat pump heating system or a solar thermal system.
  • Knowledge of the physical processes in the cooling circuit of a heat pump.
  • Systematic action for commissioning a heat pump heating system or a solar thermal system.
  • Abilities for action-oriented planning, installation and commissioning of heat pump and solar thermal heating systems.
  • Ability to prepare test reports on heat pump heating systems and solar thermal systems.
  • Ability to measure and evaluate electrical and hydraulic processes using heat pump and solar thermal systems as examples.
  • Understanding of energy optimisation processes in heating systems with heat pumps and solar thermal systems.
  • Knowledge of the terms and operating resources of heat pump and solar thermal systems.
  • Ability to assess electrical and hydraulic measured values in heat pump heating systems and to plan process changes based on these values.
  • Understanding of the control and energy optimisation of circulating pumps in heating systems.
  • Competence for the optimisation of energetic processes in heating systems.
  • Initial training / apprenticeships:
    • Plant mechanic Sanitation
    • Electrical engineer for energy and building services engineering (formerly: electrician)
