The benchtop model conveys the functional principle of a heat pump in an easy and understandable way. It illustrates the different stations of the refrigeration cycle that are crucial for the smooth functioning of a heat pump: Evaporation, compression, condensation and expansion. With the help of this model, these central phases can be understood in a simple way.
Operation
After the tanks have been filled with tap water and the model has been connected electrically (via Schuko plug for conventional 230V socket), the heat pump is ready for operation and the trainees as well as the pupils can get to know how a heat pump works. The compact design of the model in conjunction with the didactic materials provided enables flexible use both in theory and in practice.
The parameters temperature and pressure, which are important for the operation of a heat pump, are recorded and displayed using modern measuring technology. The measured values can then be traced, processed and evaluated by the trainees or students using the didactic materials. In this way, a deeper understanding of the processes in the refrigeration cycle and of heat pump technology as a whole is gained.
Thanks to its compact dimensions and robust frame, the model is extremely versatile. This helps to make understanding of heat pump technology easy and training more effective overall. The flexible use of the model makes it possible to structure training in a more efficient way.
Technology and environment
It is particularly important for trainees or apprentices to be familiar with how heat pumps work, as this technology has a huge impact on the energy efficiency, sustainability and environmental friendliness of heating and cooling systems. Climate targets can only be met with environmentally friendly technology. Decarbonisation in heating technology plays a very crucial role in this. Therefore, the heat pump is the building heating of the future! Thus, it is particularly important to teach this technology comprehensively in education and training.
First of all, it is crucial to understand the functional principle of a heat pump. Only when the relevant components and their function, as well as the complete process in the heat pump, are understood, will one be able to plan, set up, commission and maintain heat pump systems.
Practice
The optimal combination of theory and practice is essential for a sound understanding of heat pumps. On the one hand, the theoretically learned basics can be reproduced experimentally, and on the other hand, the results and measurements of the practical exercises and experiments can decisively promote the understanding of heat pump technology.
