Digital twins of machine tools contribute significantly to optimizing the engineering process at the machine manufacturer. This is because the digital twin of automation helps to parallelize process steps that in the past were processed step by step one after the other. The digital twin also improves processes during machine operation - whether as a digital twin of machining or as a digital twin for collision protection in real time.
With the digital twin of the SINUMERIK ONE for machining, Run MyVirtual Machine, offline programming and checking of NC programs is possible without a real machine. In this way, programming, work preparation and process optimization take place virtually. Machining programs are prepared completely offline on the computer with the digital twin. Digital twins of different machines can be stored on a PC so that all programs can also be created at a single workstation.
A digital twin of the machine can support the operator of the machine tool, even if it is running in manual mode. A digital twin reliably protects the machine from collisions in real time. It stops axis movements before a collision occurs. This is a very big advantage, which pays off especially in CNC training.
