Starting with the written final examination part 2 summer 2012, the contents of the PAL examination for cutting machine operators will be extended. The extension will focus on multi-axis machining (C-axis in turning or 3+2 axes in milling).
With the corresponding upgrade to SYMplus and with special workbooks, your trainees will also master these new contents.

Exam relevant for cutting machine operators since summer 2012!
Note: The extension module 3D simulation and version 6.0 should be available. If you use version 5.2, you need an update to the current version.

  • SYMplus PALplus Turning is provided as a download. The licence can either be activated for a specific piece of hardware or secured by a USB dongle. (The dongle costs €40)
  • The software always includes a postprocessor product (SIEMENS or similar) for automatically creating NC programmes for your control system(s).
  • Workbook "Complete Machining according to PAL"
  • Commercial PC, e.g. with Intel ® Core™ 2 Duo E8400 @ 3GHz
  • Recommended operating systems: Microsoft Windows® 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10
  • Main memory: min. 2 GB
  • Hard disk space: approx. 2 GB free per technology
  • Screen resolution: min. 1024 x 768 px
  • OpenGL-compatible 3D graphics card, like the GeForce GT 210 (1024 MB)
  • PC keyboard and mouse
  • Sound card and speakers
  • Internet connection for one-time license activation (not permanent, exception CmWAN see below)
  • Data transfer to the controllers via network connection, serial interface (with handshake RTS/CTS), USB interface
  • There are two alternative licensing options available, which are determined in advance:
    • Cm or CodeMeter - with CmStick (dongle) at USB2 port or
    • CmWAN or CodeMeterWAN - with permanent Internet connection
