The training stand Modular System for Central Electrical Systems has been developed for practical use in corresponding learning fields. In addition to wiring according to the circuit diagram, diagnosis and programming/coding by means of a workshop tester via OBD is also possible. The cable connections required between the on-board power supply control unit and the installed components must be made by the trainee according to the circuit diagram. For better identification of the CAN connections between the control units, laboratory cables with 4 mm safety sockets and different colour coding are used. The inputs and outputs of the installed components are shown in digital print on the front panels of the individual modules and labelled according to the original circuit diagram. A special foil makes it possible to write on the plates with water-soluble pens or to make markings. This ensures a high degree of practicality. A continuous diagram drawn especially for this system or the VW original wiring diagram consisting of individual pages can be used as the wiring diagram.
Note: The modular construction is built on two sides on a base carrier trolley. The base cabinet is used to hold the individual modules and to store accessories and cables. It can be opened on two sides. Each side has the identical elements so that work can be done on both sides. Holders and connections for accessories (door modules or trailer modules) are provided on the base structure.
- Working with circuit diagrams, circuit symbols, terminal designations, cables, cable connections
- Using the possibilities of workshop diagnostic equipment
- Including problem-solving strategies or alternatives in diagnosis
- Checking individual components and deciding on necessary repair measures
- Coding ECUs, adjusting software statuses and testing data communication lines in compliance with legal and manufacturer-related regulations
- Creating cable connections according to wiring diagrams
- Troubleshooting the central electrical system via OBD diagnostic interface
- With the integrated fault circuit, 10 electrical faults can be switched in various component connections. A further 8 faults can be switched specifically in the CAN-BUS data connection. The effect of the faults can be measured either with a multimeter or oscilloscope or via the OBD interface with suitable diagnostic systems.
The following functions can be switched, controlled or adjusted by means of the training stand:
- Ignition start switch
- Driving speed control
- Steering angle adjustment
- Headlight height adjustment
The speed and steering angle adjustment ensures the function of the static cornering light via the LED fog lights.
The following components are installed on the modules:
- Instrument cluster
- On-board power supply control unit
- Steering column control unit with switch unit
- Diagnostic interface (gateway)
- Manual headlamp levelling system
- Steering column control unit with switch unit
- Light switch
- Wiper motor
