Monotube dampers are often used in two-wheeled vehicles. A suspension strut with progressive spring was used. By blowing or releasing nitrogen into the expansion tank the damping behaviour is changed (hard, soft).

The following can be shown:

  • Deflection by pressing on the shock absorber
  • Device for adjusting the spring hardness by turning the stepped sleeve or adjusting nut at the bottom of the spring strut
  • Movement of the cut open working piston with reed valves for the compression and rebound stage
  • In the cut open expansion tank you can see the cut open separating piston (rubber membrane), in which the gas cushion is located
