The model Compact Transport and Sorting Line simulates a handling device to allocate part loads from a store register to various discharge stations, as used for example in a parcel distributor's logistics. The Transport and Sorting Line consits of a store register with an integrated pusher, a conveyor belt, two electro powered pushers and three discharge stations.

The simulated process shows coded parcels being withdrawn from the store register, being recognized at an identification unit, getting transported to the corresponding discharge station by a conveyor belt and finally being poked from the conveyor belt to the discharge station by a pusher: When the start button is actuated, the pusher in the register store brings the lowest part from the store register (FIFO-principle) to the identification unit, where the code of the parcel is read by two reed-switches.

The code is performed by a various number of magnets fixed on the parcel. After this the pusher transfers the parcel to the conveyor belt that is already in motion. The conveyor belt transports the load as far as it reaches the discharge station it is addicted to. This position is redognized by an inductive proximity switch. The belt stops and a pusher brings the parcel to its discharge station. Following this, the belt starts moving again ready to take the next parcel from the store register in the same manner. The sequence gets stopped, when all discharge stations are occupied. To bring out only one parcel from the store at each step, the movement of the pusher in the register storage is controlled by two Reed switches.
