Item No.: 19604

Teaching system for the subject area: Electrical machines - Connection programmed control

Conventional control of three-phase motors - Basics of electromechanics

Automated systems are an integral part of our industry and thus of course also of the vocational training of electronic technicians!

With this modular teaching system for learning field 8 the basics of drive technology and VPS (connection-programmed control) can be taught.

With the help of the available experiment instructions, experiments on the following topics are taught clearly.

  • Contactor inching operation and self-retaining
  • Protective devices in the main and control circuits
  • Time functions
  • Safety of control systems
  • Sequential circuits
  • Reversing circuit
  • Star-delta starting circuit
  • Dahlander connection
  • Capacitor motor
  • Project tasks such as door drive

Due to the high modularity and the selected components, the way is open for you to individually plan many more experimental and combination possibilities with other learning boards (e.g. EDUSAFE, PLC technology).

Furthermore, the structure and design of the Christiani learning boards offer an excellent clarity, which is achieved by spatially separated and colour-coded voltage ranges.

It becomes smart when wiring, where short connections (jumper plugs) reduce the wiring effort and improve the clarity of complex circuits.

Notes:

  • The experiment instructions matching this learning board set are available separately.
  • In addition to the exercises mentioned above, the experiment instructions also include some experiments on the residual current circuit breaker. To be able to carry out these, the learning boards RCCB is required, or the experiments can also be carried out on existing equipment.

The learning boards from the series "Electrical Machines" convey contents according to learning field 8.
The VPS teaching system and its individual learning boards are suitable for teaching the basics of

  • Connection Programmed Controls (VPS)
  • Drive Technology
  • Electromechanics

In connection with the experiment instructions adapted to the learning boards (see: Documents), the circuits mentioned in the description can be set up and examined in a laboratory environment.
For this purpose we recommend using a laboratory table with an A4 experimental frame (e.g. art. no. 41543).

Advantages of the system:

  • Learning boards for use in A4 experimental frame
  • VPS and basics of drive technology covered by a teaching system
  • Safe view of the components and wiring possible through crystal clear console housing
  • Spatially separated areas as well as colour highlighting for control and low voltage connections on the front panel of the learning boards
  • Highly modularized learning boards - Minimum number of components per learning board for maximum flexibility in acquisition and application for a wide range of tasks.
  • Due to the high modularity a close proximity to conventional wiring is achieved, as the trainee/student has to decide for himself how the learning boards (components) are to be combined.
  • Thanks to the very narrowly selected A4 learning boards per component used (1/2 A4, A4, 1 A4), larger circuits can be implemented even where space is limited.
  • All learning boards can be connected via jumper plugs, which simplifies the wiring and makes it clearer at the same time. The simplification by means of jumper plugs is being used more and more in the industry due to the advantages mentioned above and would be implemented in a comparable way in the teaching system. The trainee/pupil learns how to arrange the individual components optimally in order to save time and material.
