Continuous Cloud Chamber
with Peltier Cooling and Bright LED Illumination

English
Item No.: 100786

Continuous cloud chamber with Peltier cooling and bright LED illumination.

  • Ready to start after 10 minutes
  • Integrated high-performance cooling without dry ice or additional water cooling
  • Built-in power supply
  • Approx. 1 h continuous operation with one isopropanol filling

The cloud chamber is characterised by its compact design and its long running time. Since the cooling works with an integrated high-performance cooler without an external water connection, the compact device can also be quickly put into operation in a classroom without a water connection. An additional power supply unit is not required.

The device also works at ambient temperatures above 25°C. A weakly radioactive alpha emitter made of thoriated tungsten (2 %), which is not subject to notification, is included in the scope of delivery. If no emitter is inserted, natural radioactivity can also be observed. The recipient made of alcohol-resistant plastic allows school groups a good view of the decay traces. Through openings in the lid, alcohol can be refilled with a commercially available syringe or spray bottle without destroying the stratification of the supersaturated alcohol vapour.
