Cutting with hot wire: FiloCUT3 cutting machine

The FiloCUT/CAM cutting system consists of the FiloCUT3 fusion cutting machine and the FiloCAM program as a school license.

The FiloCUT/CAM system is a very easy to use CNC melt cutting system for polystyrene foam.

It is the motivating tool for your students to acquire future-oriented skills. With the easy-to-operate FiloCUT3 fusion cutting machine and the pedagogically structured, configurable FiloCAM program, it is possible to experience modern production technology in an active and product-oriented way.

The microcontroller-controlled FiloCUT3 is delivered ready for operation with switching power supply, USB cable, magnet holder, cutting wire and operating instructions.
FiloCUT3 can be controlled completely autonomously via navigation and function keys.
Teach in - method saves cutting sequences for repetition or read in and processing in FiloCAM.
Basic settings (speed, heating wire power etc.) are shown in the display and can be changed menu-driven.
All operating states are shown in the display and via LEDs in the function keys.
Start, stop and pause functions directly at the machine.
Speed change during the cutting process.
Self-diagnosis system with protocol function and resetting to factory settings can be performed directly at the machine or via software tool.
Tiltable vertical guide and adjustable cutting angles for geometrical changes of the cuts. e.g. conversion from standard to italic type.

"The use of the FiloCUT/CAM cutting system is permitted in technical education if used as intended" is the judgement of the RGUVV and states that "under these working conditions it can be safely ruled out that fumes in health-endangering concentrations are generated during cutting".

*The actual dimensional accuracy of the cut geometry depends on the width of the cutting gap (which results from the combination of the parameters power, cutting speed and material properties) and the selected path correction.
